Joan Sturges, CPA, CFE, CVA, PI

Proprietor/Senior Accountant

Joan founded the practice in Lake County 30 years ago, with the idea that not every company is large enough to finance their own accounting department.  Joan continues to use her client centered focus to this day. 

 

Joan has spent the last 30 years providing accounting services to Lake County.  She has become well know for her ability to deal with complex tax problems. 

Over the years her practice has continued to grow,  becoming the  leading provider of independent audits in Lake County.

 

Several years ago Joan completed the requirements to become a Certified Fraud Examiner and a Private Investigator. Joan is increasingly focusing on forensic accounting.  She has given expert  testimony in several court cases involving fraud and larceny.

Zach Pehling graduated from the University of Washington with a  Bachelors of Science in Molecular Biology.  He proceeded to get his MBA in Financial Management.

 

Zach began his financial career writing for a financial newsletter out of Baltimore, before relocating to California with his wife. 

 

Zach is currently in the process of sitting for his CPA exams.  Upon completion of the testing requirements Zach will be licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the State of California.

Carlie Pehling graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering.  After deciding that Seattle’s weather left a little to be desired, Carlie returned home to Lake County in 2006. 

 

After joining Joan Sturges in her Practice as an office manager in 2007, Carlie became licensed as a Certified Tax Preparer for the 2007 Tax year.
